We partner with insurers to accelerate transformation initiatives around BillingCenter, PolicyCenter, and enterprise financial systems.

We are expanding our senior engineering team to support large-scale BillingCenter modernization programs.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire BillingCenter Technical Lead with deep configuration, integration, and upgrade experience. This role will work directly with senior architects, business stakeholders, and enterprise engineering teams to drive BillingCenter enhancements, GUnit automation, and multi-system integration workflows.

This position is remote but requires periodic onsite workshops at client offices in Ontario and British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, architecture, and enhancement of Guidewire BillingCenter components including configuration, plugins, financial integrations, batch processes, and accelerators.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute BillingCenter quarterly upgrades, including impact analysis, environment planning, regression strategy, and deployment validation.

  • Develop and optimize BillingCenter business rules related to payment plans, delinquency, refunds, producer fees, invoicing, and payment services.

  • Oversee improvements to the GUnit automation framework, increasing code coverage and ensuring alignment with enterprise quality standards.

  • Review code, establish technical best practices, and mentor intermediate and junior developers.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate complex billing requirements into scalable technical solutions.

  • Design integrations between BillingCenter, PolicyCenter, financial systems, payment gateways, and enterprise services using REST, SOAP, messaging, and the Guidewire Integration Framework.

  • Troubleshoot complex application issues, manage performance optimization, and support production stability.

  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, architecture reviews, and client-facing technical workshops.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on Guidewire BillingCenter configuration and integration experience.

  • Strong proficiency with Gosu, Guidewire configuration tools, BillingCenter accelerators, Guidewire Batch, and financial workflows.

  • Demonstrated experience with BillingCenter upgrade cycles and environment preparation.

  • Experience with GUnit automation and increasing automated test coverage.

  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance billing (payment plans, delinquency, producer fees, refunds, invoicing).

  • Experience developing enterprise REST/SOAP integrations.

  • Prior experience in technical leadership or mentorship roles.

  • Cloud experience (Guidewire Cloud or equivalent) is an asset.

  • Guidewire BillingCenter ACE Certification (or equivalent Guidewire certification) is strongly preferred.
